How do I change my account email?

While it's not possible to change your email, you can easily export your entries, and import them to a new account with your desired email. 

Step 1. Export your entries from your current account. 

1. Click "Settings" from the menu bar

2. Click "Your Account"

3. Scroll Down to the section "Export Entries"

4. Click the "Begin Export" button

Step 2. Create a new account with the desired email

First log out of your account.

1. Click "Settings" from the menu bar

2. Click "Your Account"

3. Scroll Down to the section "Information"

4. Click the "Logout" button

Now create a new account: https://www.reflection.app/createaccount

Step 3. Import the file that was created during your export.

1. Click "Settings" from the menu bar

2. Click "Your Account"

3. Scroll Down to the section "Import Entries"

4. Click the "Begin Import" button

5. Select the recently downloaded JSON export file

6. Click the "Okay!" button on the Import In Progress confirmation screen

Wait until you receive a confirmation email about the import - this may take a few minutes.  If you do not receive a confirmation email within 2 hours please contact us.

(Do not try to import again in the meantime otherwise it could cause a duplicate import!)

Step 4. Confirm the import looks good.

Visit your journal on your new account and confirm all of your entries are there as desired.


Step 5. (Optional) Delete your old account.

You can log out, and log back into your old account and delete it via the button at the bottom of the settings, (this is irreversible).
